Henry Ford Hospital has agreed to a $125 million settlement to resolve claims from approximately 8,200 patients alleging sexual abuse and secret recordings by Dr. Oumair Aejaz between 2018 and 2024.

Settlement Structure

The settlement includes a two-phase compensation system:

Phase 1: Baseline Payments

  • $5,000 baseline payment for affected patients
  • Available to all verified claimants

Phase 2: Enhanced Compensation

  • Up to $2 million for cases involving proven recording plus physical contact
  • Higher compensation based on severity of abuse documented
